Feeling like a Big Boy!

Ryan rode his two wheel bike (with training wheels) for the first time this weekend! He had a little trouble get started, but once he got the hang of it he was in heaven...feeling like a big boy!

My big boy!

Look at me go!

Shop Time!

Jeff finally made it back into the shop...after a very long hiatus. He has been longing to build something, so he decided to build Ryan his first "big boy" bed. Ryan is so excited to finally have a bed like his brothers, unfortunately he doesn't get that that it won't be ready TODAY! I think the boys were pretty excited that their daddy was back in the shop too. It gave them the opportunity to go out and "work" with him. Jeff got them their own safety goggles, gave them some scrap wood, nails and a mallet (we didn't trust them with a hammer). These items provided entertainment for a LONG time as they tried and tried to get the nail through the wood with the mallet.
They hammered at this nail for quite some time!

He looks like he knows what he is doing!

Ryan sings a song about....Sticky Tape!

Ryan loves to sing! He is always singing something while he plays. Today we were building puzzles and he broke out in song about sticky tape! He actually sang it twice for me, once before I had the camera and again for the camera. The funny thing is, they both sounded identical even though there are very few recognizable words in the song.

You would have thought I was feeding him brussel sprouts!

For dinner tonight I fixed the boys cheese tortellini with alfredo sauce. It doesn't sound too bad right? I mean what kid doesn't like pasta, especially when it is covered in creamy, cheesy goodness!?! Well, Justin thought it was horrible! You should have seen him. He was choking and gagging like I was feeding him something terrible. He had the same reaction I had on the ONE occasion I have ever eaten brussel sprouts! In the end, he just couldn't do it. Who would have thought?!

Bike ride to breakfast!

This morning, the boys and I decided to go for a bike ride. In their opinion, just a bike ride is not any fun. There has to be a destination. Someplace they can stop, relax and usually get some kind of treat! This morning they decided they wanted to go out to breakfast, so we went to Bella Bru. We had a great breakfast and were even surprised when Jeff showed up to join us. After a stop at the grocery store and the movie store, we were on our way home again. I always enjoy getting out on the bikes with the kids!

The Start of a Blog

I was once a scrapbooker. I used to scrapbook with great detail even the smallest events in my children's lives or maybe I should say my child's life. Travis has some amazing scrapbooks chronicling EVERYTHING from his first 3 years of life....and then Justin came a long. With two little ones running around I found there wasn't the time I needed to scrapbook in the way that I wanted so I just didn't do it. Justin has an album covering the first 9 months of his life. Although the desire to create memories in scrapbook form was still there, I just didn't have the time. With the birth of Ryan everything came to a STOP! He has probably less than half a dozen pages. It makes me sad to think that all the pictures I take and memories we make go undocumented. I have tried several methods to catch up or to get started yet again, but ultimately I just can't keep up. This is my attempt at yet another method to document the life of my children and to chronicle the journey we are on together as a family.
