It is a boy’s world….

After the boys took a bath, this is what I found, 16 Star Wars guys and their very colorful ships!  They love playing with these guys in the bath tub.  They keep the boys happy and entertained for a very long soaking!

They didn’t exactly have premium seating.  Jeff said you couldn’t get any higher up in the stands!

Travis was excited that he was able to go too even though he is not a Scout!

Some of the best things are unexpected!

Grandpa’s house is a place we all love to go, but unfortunately we don’t get there nearly enough.  The boys had been asking to visit a lot recently so we packed up and headed to his beautiful house in the trees.  Grandpa’s house is fun!  He takes the boys on ATV rides through the almond orchards, pitches a tent in the house for sleeping, there are tractor rides and train watching and there is certainly plenty of room just to run and play.

On this visit we were greeted with even another surprise.  You see, Grandpa is a foster home for rescued Wiemaraner’s and he happened to be caring for a very sweet and loving dog that he affectionately called Mr. Wiggles because his tail never stops wiggling!  He had been caring for Wiggles for less than a week when we came to visit.  Well, to our surprise, Wiggles wiggled his way into all of our hearts.  He was mellow and easy going, didn’t bark or jump and most importantly put up with Ryan following his every move.  By the time it was time to go home the boys had already been begging and pleading to take Wiggles home with us, after all, he was available for adoption!  Jeff and I had no intention of ever owning a dog, we just weren’t dog people, so of course we told the boys “no”.  They were sad, so sad.  They offered up all the money they had in their piggy banks to help pay for all the “things” he would need.  We left Grandpa’s house with them all crying.  Over the next several hours, while we visited my family, Jeff and I talked about the dog, the boys and whether we really truly thought that this is something we could do.  If we were going to do this, we wanted to do it 100%.  Jeff and I had to agree that this was not going to be just the boys dog, but our dog and that we would love and care for him to our greatest ability.  The fact that we even considered giving in to the boys requests to bring Mr. Wiggles home meant that deep down we knew it was the right choice and a month later, I am completely convinced that, indeed, it was the right choice!!  We drove back to Grandpa’s house that day and brought Wiggles home!  He has fit in perfectly with our family!
